Still no Sammy news

These people sound about as bright as the guy who's dog I picked up on a 4 lane highway. I tried to locate him with flyers in the area where I found the dog. *When I got no calls I finally took the dog to the local shelter. *That evening he calls me, he's drunk and tells me he wants his dog. *I told him I took it to the shelter since I couldn't possibly keep it here with my three. *I gave him the phone number of the shelter. *He yells at me for picking him up.. *I yelled back at him .....if I hadn't he be a bloody splat in the highway right now and you wouldn't have a damned dog. Had the same thing myself a couple of years back. Lovely golden cocker spaniel gallloping around the main road with no collar on. Managed to get him inside and ended up taking him to the police station (useful tip, not that anyone here will heed it,. don't help lost animals at the weekend I very nearly went mad trying to find out what to do with him. RSPCA said it was a job for the councils animal wardens but they only work Mon-Fri- the most helpful person was my step nieces partner who works for Battersea dog and cat home and even she said I had to use the councils animal warden!) The next morning there were lost dog posters all over the place so I called the number and it turns out that the owner took a poster to the local cab office and the controller remembered me getting a cab to take the dog (and no I never got paid back for that, it was nightmare journey as a lot of our local drivers are Muslim and they wouldn't take a dog and the one who did was terrified the dog would lick him and he was a very friendly dog so I spent the whole, journey pulling the dog back) so she got him back from the police station so happy ending,,, But this woman actually yelled at me for taking the dog in so I told her "I didn't want to call you this morning and say, yeah I've seen your dog he's a bloody smear on Bow Road" Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs |
