I shouldn't laugh (semi OT)
Dave just got an email from a friend who had to rush his dog to the
vets this morning.....Luckily dog is okay, bit bruised and grazed but nothing major..... apart from maybe canine pride Reason? The dog after years of completely ignoring it for some unknown reason tried to go out through the cat flap...umm....John says he isn't the brightest of dogs but....He's half German Shepherd and not a small dog by any stretch of the imagination so of course, he got stuck...they had to hacksaw part of the door off to get him free and even take him to the vets with the cat door still wrapped round his neck (John didn't want to try and get it off with a hacksaw and a panicking dog he would much rather do it where if he slipped there was a vet on standby as it was the vet gave the dog a mild tranquillizer so they could remove the cat door) apparently when John walked in with his dog complete with cat door around his neck (the dogs not John's) people in the waiting room choked with laughter and even the vet and the vet nurses had severe trouble keeping a straight face! Anyway as I said dog is fine and John is now freezing to death (he lives on Bodmin Moor and they've been having snow) because he can't ge the door fixed until Monday and the only thing he could find to cover where they had to hacksaw the door apart is some cardboard..... The dog is in mortal danger until Monday through as the 3 cats are not pleased with the fact there is now a howling draft coming in through the kitchen door right next to the Aga, which is usually a favourite place in cold weather Perhaps we'd better purr they don't kill him before Monday Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs |
