Default Signs of progress

Some people just walked past our apartment... Scouty was on the desk
next to me, and instead of turning around and running away to the
bedroom, she ran over to the couch under the window and put her paws
up on it so she could see out and watch them! Our little scaredycat is
getting brave...

Silly's gotten so brave that when people come into the apartment to
visit, she comes out to see them in person! It's funny - she hides
under the coffee table and peers out, and if she thinks its safe she
sneaks up to them for a closer inspection.

I wonder why some cats are so shy like that?!? All three of mine come out
of hiding when someone comes over. They want scritches from somebody
besides me for a change!

When we have company:

1. Kumani thinks they're all camouflaged vets packing butt
thermometers, and seeks a place to hide.
2. Smokey walks right over for a scritch and to see if they gots food.
3. Nocturne goes into her office, then (at a moment of her choosing)
she ambles out to inspect the newcomers. If they pass, she enthrones
herself in the room (to grace them with her magnificence) and if they
fail (usually for being noisy, grabby, or someone she's got a vendetta
against) she returns to her office under the bed until they leave.
4. Tyche saunters up to the company, hisses, saunters up to us, rubs
us, purrs, saunters back to them, hisses..."I LOVE Mom. I HATE you. I
LOVE Dad. YOU suck..." She's got no use for anyone who isn't "family"

I think coffee tables are magical kitty safe places

Cleo, Tabitha, and Samuel hide when anyone come in the house. Amelia
doesnt care one way or the other, and will usually wander in to see if the
guests have any snacks for her. Ranger will slowly approach the visitor,
and after a few minutes of sitting just out of reach will curl up on the
back of couch right behind the guest. Harri will go into hiding for the
first half hour or so, then will magically appear under the coffee table
where she will stare at the visitor.

Molly is a shameless little slut. For a cat that isn't particularly
affectionate with us, she makes it clear that she would happily go home with
any guy that walks into the house.

We have two teenage grandsons and they have the standard entourage of
friends. As long as they are around she is in heaven. If they are gone for
a few days, she will reluctantly allow Charlie and I to scratch her.
