Default Am I a mean Meowmie?

I had Rosie shaved.

Not just her klingon area, from her shoulders back to the last 1 inch of
tail.

TED said that she was a very good kitty while being shaved - just lay there
and let them shave her, all the while with this "help me" look on her face.

She looks silly - but yet still cute.

She has a lion's mane, wearing big puffy sleeves and 'chaps', and had a puff
on the tip of her tail.

The rest of her has been trimmed back to maybe 1/4 of an inch (6mm) long.

Where she was black, she is now grey!

All the other long haired cats we had, their fur that was long was the guard
hairs (the stiffer hairs). Not Rosie. Her under-fur was the long stuff!
It was very fine, soft and puffy - and matted super-easy! I decided to get
her saved *before* she really started shedding this spring/summer.

At first, she seemed a bit of a grump about it, but I think she was more
****ed off that she was 'man-handled' for the procedure than anything. She
appears to really appreciate the short fur now - she's been playing and
chasing Barney & Bam-Bam (the only two who will "play" with her).

But it is funny to watch her flick that bit of puff at the end of her tail
giggle.

A friend of mine shaves her kitty down in a simular "lion cut". It's
kind of startling at first...but cute, too! She really seems to enjoy
it every year.

I usually give Possum a similar cut in late spring/early summer
because he's not very good at reaching his back when he grooms. He
hates the process, but doesn't seem to mind the results

hehehe how ironic that you post this.

Cause my plan tomorrow is to kidnap Mayhem and have HER shaved

I figured short booties and I'll leave her tail fluffy. She IS
particular about her tail. I think getting shaves is one thing but if
i shaved her tail she REALLY would be mad

Kristi

ps wish me luck on catching her tomorrow.

OK - I uploaded one very poor "before" picture (she's not even looking at
the camera), but you can tell how long her fur was.

Then there are 2 "after" pictures, and webshots now lets one upload
*videos*. I did the video so you could see the effect of the "lion puff" on
the tip of her tail.

See my webshots page, in the "Rosebud" album:

(it's still uploading the movie file, so give it a bit before you try to
view it... I thought broadband (cable) internet hookup was supposed to be
*faster*?!?!?!)

If you weren't a bad meowmie for shaving her, you are now for posting
pictures for the world to see! And the vid... I was just going to
take a drink of tea when she started waving her tail... I'm glad I
hadn't had time to take the drink, because I rolled around laughing
(don't tell Rosie I laughed at her). It just looks so funny with the
skinny, skinny tail, and then the wavy poof at the end.

Adorable! I think she's quite cute and I'm sure she'll be more comfortable
in the summer heat, as well.

She *seems* to like it - is much more active than before.

If it is hot where you live, I bet she thanked you loads for the hair
cut.
I have Birmans and Ragdolls & I am even considering cutting their fur
down this year. The poor things sit there panting all day with their
tongues hanging out....
laughing aside, it is simply too hot for them..
Thanx for the photos BTW, they were great , lol..
