At first sight this looks like some kind of cruel trollish
thing to do, but it seems to be for real:

She says she uses rather soft pegs. In the picture they don't
look quite like any kind you can buy here; maybe the ones that
come on those circular sock-and-underwear hangers.

I think Odin would have preferred a more macho colour.

Default cat pegging

Someone once posted a link to photo of a vet tech using binder clips for the same purpose. (Ow!) Supposedly it mimics the action of a mother cat holding a kitten by the back of the neck, causing the kitten to relax.

I had a mobile vet do it, it worked. on my cat, not me.
