Default Mr. Pumpkin-Dental

Oh dear, Mr. Pumpkin our very sweet 14 year old orange tabby is going in on
Thursday (6/30) to have two bad teeth removed.

These were discovered at his annual check up where it was also found that he
had some popped blood vessels behind the retinas of both eyes. A CBC showed
no evidence of kidney or diabetes which would explain the popping of the
blood vessels. I will be searching for a feline eye specialist.

He is having difficulty with his back legs in that they swing out and go
down when he rounds a corner quickly or makes other fast moves. The vet
could feel no reason for the problem with Mr. P's legs. X-Rays are
scheduled for after the dental work is completed.

Mr. Pumpkin is the cat of my heart and is my husband, David's very dearest
buddy. We are so concerned about the dental work on Thursday. Please some
purrs for the Pumpkins comfort, health and safety as he goes through the
process.

Many purrs. Was your vet able to take a blood pressure? The combination
of retinal hemorrhages and rear leg weakness might suggest high blood
pressure and some cardiac inefficiency -- which is treatable. I'd bring
this up before anesthesia.
