tail twitching
My two-year old inside/outside cat has gradually developed a twitch in his tail. While his tail is held up, he will twitch it by rotating it along its axis. Possibly with a slight side-to-side twitch of his hindquarters. This looked a little bit like spraying behavior, but without the spraying. He does it around me. I haven't especially noticed it while he makes the rounds of the house (ala spraying). He is fixed and has never sprayed that I've observed. Could this be the gradual onset of spraying? Harmless mock spraying? The Pain and Itch of Hemorrhoidal Tissues? I haven't noticed any extra grooming or scratching of that area. ideas? |

Is it more like a quivering? One of my cats - a spayed female - does this
frequently when coming up to greet me, or even just on her way walking by. It's a "Hi, hello, I'm so happy to see you!" thing. My first cat did it, too - but only when I was opening her favorite kind of canned food. ;-) Cathy -- "Staccato signals of constant information..." enlightened us with... My two-year old inside/outside cat has gradually developed a twitch in his tail. While his tail is held up, he will twitch it by rotating it along its axis. I haven't especially noticed it while he makes the rounds of the house (ala spraying). My 3 year old male does this when he is excited, often when greeting me or other family members. He has never sprayed. He just gets so excited, his tail gets twitchy, then he usually follows it up with the head-roll - where he head butts you hard, then rubs, then does a somersault. *G* -- -- ~kaeli~ If the funeral procession is at night, do folks drive with their lights off? http://www.ipwebdesign.net/wildAtHeart http://www.ipwebdesign.net/kaelisSpace |
