lol Tak. You have the most incredible memory! I was thinking about
Hobbes and the garage door this afternoon. He scared me so badly that
day that he got trapped under the garage door. Of course that same day
I slammed his tail in car door. Its a wonder he decided to stay with
us.

Thank you all for your messages and the candles. I have printed all
of the candles so that I can read them over again in the days to
come. It has been a long day today and I am going to bed soon, but I
wanted everyone to know how much your condolences mean to me. {{{{{To

This is such sad news - Hobbes has been here for what seemed like 'forever'.

Purrs for his travels to RB and of course, purrs for you & Rusty's broken
hearts.

Thank you Yowie, it does see like Hobbes had been with us forever.
Most of you will probably know what I mean by what follows. Rusty and
I had been married 13 years when we moved into our house. We decided
early in our marriage that we weren't going to have children because
we wanted to play, race cars and travel instead. But children make a
couple a family. We were a family of two but we needed one more to
make a circle. Hobbes gave us that. he gave us someone to care about
and to love together. He was our first child and while we knew that
he wouldn't out-live us we chose to ignore that and give him all of
our hearts and in turn he gave us his and together we were a family.
Our family grew over the years but Hobbes was our firstborn and will
always have a special place in my heart.

I'll come back before the end of the weekend and thank you each
individually, but I hope right now you'll forgive my weakness and need
to sleep.

Hugs to all

I'm very sorry to read this, Julie. Another candle has been
lit for Hobbes, and I hope sharing the stories helps you ease the
ache you must feel. Thank you for sharing Hobbes with us all these
years.

I'm so very sorry for your terrible loss.

I have lit a candle for Hobbes, too.

Hobbes won't hurt anymore, it will be you that carries this for him. Not
really very much to ask, for the years and the love and the joy he brought
to you. But nothing will hurt like this, this bitter-sweet sorrow, so sharp
it will carve itself into your soul.

Please accept my deepest condolences,
Godspeed Hobbes.

Totally understand, Julie. Shmogg was my firstborn, too, and went through so
much of my turbulant younger years with a loyalty that would put a dog to
shame. Joel was a decent fellow and treated his furry stepchild well,
although those two never shared the bond that Shmogg & I had. Fluffy is the
firstborn of Joel & I and will break our hearts all over again when she
passes (she's still going strong, although keeps aggravating her bad knee by
trying to be a puppy and jumping up when she's really a geriatric old lady).

Hugs & purrs once again to you & Rusty. May the day when you remember Hobbes
with a smile rather than tear be close.
