Aside from the obvious, there are two good things about this. There is
at least a chance that having other cats around might encourage Lindy to
eat more so they can't get it. And, if there are any problems, I can
blame them on my sister. ;-)

It's hard to argue if even a dog person says, 'Go for it.' Seems likes
fate. Looking forward to updates.

That's true. I'll definitely post an update sometime on Sunday.

[snip story of two cats who need a new home]

Since I'm so close, I'm going over there
"to see them" Sunday afternoon. I figure my chances of coming
home without
them are about equal to my chances of winning the lottery, and I
haven't
bought a lottery ticket in years.

Aside from the obvious, there are two good things about this. There
is at
least a chance that having other cats around might encourage
Lindy to eat
more so they can't get it. And, if there are any problems, I can
blame them
on my sister. ;-)

That's sp true

They sound great! Could you talk to her about an arrangement
whereby if Lindy just ends up totally miserable with these cats,
she would take them back?

That's something to consider, for sure, but I have a warm fuzzy
feeling Lindy will benefit from having them around That's just
my opinion, of course..but okay, Mosey just wandered by and I
asked his opinion about your 'dilemma' . I'm so sorry about
Lindy And I think about Nanki-Poo too. Mosey thinks you should
get Lindy some pals to hang around with and who knows....?

I don't think it's entirely out of line to offer congratulations.

Bless your heart

Thank you, Kyla. I think once I bring them home, they're mine, and
vice versa.

Joy, I think you're absolutely right. Lucky (Licky) is the cat who
has you for
their slave I've even got names for them...Occupant and
Resident...LOL. .
Kyla =^..^=

LOL! The come provided with names, which they supposedly respond to.
They are Pickles and Waffles. That sounds like a terrible
combination, but I'm assured they get along well. ;-)

Hang on, we already have a Pickle(s) and Waffles is this group. Is this a
sign???????

pancakes can you fit in a doghouse? None, icecream doesn't have bones.

Congratulations on your soon to be new owners, I hope you all will have many
happy years together. A loving cat is almost as good as winning the lottery.

In some ways, it is better than winning the lottery - you don't have long
lost relatives coming out of the wood work for money. Most of them want
nothing to do with cats, so you can share only with whom you want without
fear of anyone else bothering you.

Let's just hope that if you develop a love for Pickles and Waffles, it's
not a sign that you're pregnant!

Did a pregnant woman name them?

Default I think I'm committed - or I should be! - UPDATE

What have I done?
I went to pick up the cats.

Waffles (the male) is very affectionate and loves attention. Pickles is shy,
but she loves to have her tummy rubbed. Melissa gave me all sorts of things
for them - food & water dishes, food, litter, scratching post, toys, a brush
& some other stuff. She had obviously talked to the ex-fiancé, and he had
given some information she didn't have when I talked to her. They're three
years old, and they have had shots and are microchipped. They've also been
dewormed twice. They are also longhairs, so I'll have a lot more cat hair to
deal with.

Neither of them wanted to be put in the carrier. Melissa got Waffles in the
carrier, but it took us about 15 minutes to catch Pickles. When she opened
the carrier, Waffles escaped, and then Pickles got away from me. We chased
them down for about another 15 minutes, and finally caught them by cornering
them in the bathroom with the two of us, and wrapping them in towels. We
managed to get them both in the carrier, but it was a real struggle. Waffles
screamed most of the way home.

I brought then in and set the carrier in the living room. Lindy checked it
out while I was bringing things in. I didn't hear any snarling. Finally I
opened the door of the carrier and went away to fix food & the litterbox. At
some point they both left the carrier, but I have no idea where they are.

I don't know how I'm going to catch them and get them in the carrier to take
them to the vet, or how I can carry it. It's a big plastic one, and is heavy
by itself. They are no lightweights.

I'll take pictures when I can, but it's pretty hard to photograph them when
I have no idea where they are. ;-)

Hehe. Hope they come out soon. The main thing is Lindy does not seem too
upset at having two intruders in the house.

No, she's a little perturbed, but not terribly upset. The first sign of
hostility showed up about half an hour ago. I was sitting in my chair and
Lindy approached as though she were going to jump up on the chair. The next
thing I knew, she was staring under the chair, and there was a little
hissing and growling. I'm not sure which it came from. It might have been
both. Eventually Lindy walked away.
