How Many is Too Many?

I would say if you have the means to feed and care for them properly including medical
care and you house does not smell overly catty then it is not to much. But then cat
hoarders always think they are taking good care of them even through the cats may all be
sick and dying like they are on some of the Animal Cops shows on animal planet.

I figure 24 would be my limit since there's no way I could get more than 2 a
month to the vet for annual check ups . The 18 I have right now are taxing
my schedule and forget about my budget.
As far as the maximum for individual attention, that would be the number
that could comfortably sleep on your bed. I've noticed that is independent
of whether or not I'm on the bed. If I am, one sleeps on my feet, one on my
thighs, one on my side, and one little hussy wants to take her half of the
pillow out of the middle.

How many litterboxes? That is some scooping job.


12 litterpans 5 are pretty much outdoor only so that seems to be enough.
FWIW I use a mix of about half clumping and half regular and keep the pans
pretty full.

There was a guy of TV the other nite who had over 250, and they were
all starving. The animal control dudes had to go in that house and
capture and drag each one of those wild hell-kats out. It took the
entire day. All the while the owner stood outside in a bathrobe and
slippers and cried.
I think the proper question here is not how many kats are too many....
Rather.. What is the total number of kats you could possess before you
yourself realize that you are mentally ill ?
