BT Rowdy weighs 19#, so he is a bully and throws his weight around: first
always at the food bowl, he gobbles so fast that frequently he barfs some up
nearby (what a pig). The girls wait - Sylvie eats after Rowdy, dainty tux
girl chowing down and then off for her bath; last is timid Maluce, who,
keeping her eyes on the other two, sneaks up to the bowl and slowly eats a
few bites (she's a "grazer" and will return time and again for a few bites)
before backing away to the water bowls for a "chaser" drink. Talking to your
cats? I always have plenty to say to piggy Rowdy after his barfing session
follows pigging out too fast, but he never learns.

Gizmo whinges painfully when I am getting dressed for work, before I
have a chance to feed her. And when I do, she sits right where the
food is to go, whinges till the bowl is put down then takes 2-3 bites
and leaves it. OR even worse, when you feed her (after the wingeing)
and she wont eat it at all!!

When am I going to learn? I am there to serve her....how dare I make
her wait 10 minutes! How dare I expect her to be excited about what I
fed her!!

10 minutes!!!! I'm surprised the poor cat hasn't starved to death. ;-)

Apache has this little sound she makes when eating
something she particularly enjoys - sort of a half-growl.
Mostly she just nibbles at food - especially wet food.
She definately prefers dry food - particularly James
Welbeloved's Turkey and Rice - but can be tempted
by a nice bit of sliced ham (when Daddy makes his
sandwiches ) or smoked salmon, or even a few trimmings
from the chicken Mummy is chopping up to cook.

Dakota just chows down. He also enjoys sliced ham -
but doesn't recognise beef, raw chicken or smoked
salmon as food. He'll beg for it (there's *something*
on offer, of course he begs) but if you give it to him
he looks at it, paws it around, looks at you and goes
"huh?"

The same thing here. Maya was half starved when she moved in. She can

be a fussy eater and has the best table manners imaginable. Bruiser came

from a good home as a kitten and as near as I can tell has never known
a
missed meal. To watch him eat you would think he had not eaten in a week

at every meal. My sister and nephew were up for Thanksgiving and they

were amazed and apalled when they saw him eat. I think the expression

was "Oh my God".

Alas Spicey is also a bit of a slob. She is a bit picy; no tuna, no beef, no
minced. Somedays she eats almost all her canned food at once others she takes
forever. She likes dry food, we just keep the bowl about 1/4 full.
