CAT LADY WANTED

I am a man, and my experience has been that the Dyson is a *wonderful* vacuum. It is the very best vacuum we've ever had. It beats the top of the line Hoover we once had, hands down. If you ever need to buy a new vacuum, spend the extra money on a Dyson. Hugs and Purrs, Mark I've heard that it is a great vacuum and extremely easy to push. If I had the money, I'd get one. I'm tired of buying yard sale flops. :~) kili I don't know about a Dyson, but Mom has a self-propelled Hoover that works very well. I have one of those bagless Dirt Devil uprights that is also self-propelled. I like that I just have to clean the accordian filter and replace it about once a year. Mom's has a much stronger self-propelling power, though. It will practically drag you through the house! LOL Mom also has a cannister Orek. I have no idea why someone would want to drag a vacuum cleaner around behind like a recalcitrant dog on a leash, but there you have it. Strange little vacuum. I never did like cannister vacs. It's the only kind she had for years, though, and old habits die hard. Yard sales... you should have been I my neighborhood when I set my Eureka upright out by the curb with a note indicating "It works!" It worked very well but it was also very heavy. (I put the bag refills out with it). Jill |

And Matthew made references, but he didn't back it up with any facts, so how do I know it's even true? Do you see no distinction at all between fantasies or stories about incest and real child abuse? Well. You might say the same about people who download child porn. Is it a fantasy or not? Does it mean they will *actually* go on to abuse children? We take no chances here. Child porn sites are heavily monitored by the police here in my local area, everyone who downloads it is caught. In my child protection team we get one or two cases a week at least, mainly ordinary family men with children. This sets off an investigation into how safe are the children in that family, it's intrusive and it breaks up marriages when the wives/partners are not aware and have to be told. Maybe we will need to look at the "incest" sites too after I read this thread. I will bring it to the attention of my manager on Monday. She will tell the police and no doubt they will monitor these sites too. There is nothing more important than protecting our children from abuse. They are our future. Tweed |

"tanadashoes" wrote in message I do have my spam blocker set high because I'm generally a private person in a lot of ways (yeah, I know, I post everything about my life in here, but I still have privacy issues) but I'll make an exception for you. Pam S. Pam, you might really want to reconsider. Privacy issues aren't always a bad thing, especially in this case. Jo I'm in a committed relationship but technically I'm single. I have no intention of sharing personal (dating) information with this person. As I said, this isn't a dating service. I''m not laughing at John but I have no intentions of dating him even if I were in his area. He reminds me of a friend from an old Prodigy service in the early 1990's who was a farmer looking for a hard-working and child-bearing age wife. Um. No thanks! Jill |

You say "Statistically, this is false." I disagree and I can only speak from
what I have observed around me. I came on here to talk about cats and cat caring people. I think I may need to take a break. Best wishes to you all. "Wayne Mitchell" wrote in message ... Joyce You should watch more CSI; I've learned lots from all cities; I love seeing my hometown scenery on the Miami show but like the actors in the Vegas better. The "distinction" is called "registered sex offender"and the shows lay out for all to learn what the fantasizers do in RL..... What you speak of is a television program, hopitus. Real life isn't like this. |

With all due respect, Wayne, I don't quite understand. It seems to me that a person who has posted seeking a real-life person to roleplay has already acted on the fantasy to some degree. No? OTOH, to be completely and totally fair, when I checked my *own* profile, I found some quite frightening posts written that definitely leaned toward jihad propoganda. It was obviously not written by me. I had the posts deleted. Someone had stolen my screen name/account and these horrible posts were out there that looked exactly like I had written them. I suppose that's a possibility with anyone else, too. A dear friend had just showed me how to check my own past postings. Now I will do it often, just as if it were a credit report or something. What you speak of is a television program, hopitus. *Real life isn't like this.- Hide quoted text - But there *is* a darker side of real life that a portion of the CSI programs do imitate. There is some embellishment for the drama factor, but I have no doubt that the episodies are, even if somewhat loosely, based on real cases. What disturbs me is that some of the things portrayed are so sick, so vile, and you just don't know which equally sick and vile viewer is going to get ideas from it. This has happened before; not with CSI specifically, but a young girl here was terrorized and hurt in a fashion that her attackers copy- katted from a show they'd seen. Sherry |

"hopitus" wrote in message Childish, yes but that's my HO. If you wanna see something *useless* vacuum-wise, take my iRobot self- propelled round cat terrorizer (Granby, are you looking? We're talking *cats* now!!! When I want to have some fun with the cats, I drag it out and start it going in the long hall, where it gets all their attention with a short little song it plays when it activates itself.....it swirls in circles, bumping walls and recoiling off them, to go in another direction, much to the cats' confuston and frustration. It picks up hardly anything, maybe a stray kibble or floating fur scrap, stored in its tiny compartment. It dies and its red light comes on very soon and I dunno whether my cats think it''s dead, dying, or what. It was a very expensive gift to me years ago and a large one in diameter; Rowdous sat right on it recently perhaps as a gesture of victorious conquering of the enemy. As a cat toy, it's fun; as a vac, utterly useless. Had one of those for a while. As I remember the dustbin on it was about the size of a deck of playing cards. I was pretty useless then. Now, with Kayla's fur I would be even worse. I swear all that dog does is eat, play ball, and shed. It seems like I vacuum up a whole dog every week, even when she spends half the day outside. Jo |
