does Sam have thumbs?

I feed my 3 cats in separate rooms with the doors closed so Abby gets to
finish her food because she is a slow eater. Sam eats in the computer room
upstairs. I closed the French doors to my living room to separate Abby and
Cinnamon. I was reading the paper and lost tract of the time. About 15
minutes later I see Sam looking in the glass door to the living. I'm
thinking, how did he get out of his room?
DH sleeps later than I do because of his work hours and got up to use the
bathroom and saw Abby upstairs. Knowing she was done eating he opened the
door to the computer room and let Sam out.
