No, I've not heard of anyone trying it. But if you can get a good price
on it, I don't see why not. Some folks have reported good results using
layer crumbles (basically cracked corn) as an inexpensive litter.

a couple of thoughts... i wonder how close to the pine pellets these are and
i have a friend who uses the pellets you burn in a pellet stove instead of
the pine ones because one of her cats wasn't fond of the pine smell and they
are seriously cheaper... also, i now use a litter system called the breeze
system which is actually plastic pellets with a puppy pad underneath to
catch the wet, very excellent system and in the long run cheaper than
regular litter, smells better and easier to scoop the boxes...
