I haven't seen any posts here for a couple of days.

I'm around. Â* I don't read the group (or even email) every day of the
week.Â* I was just about to post something to the group, which I will do
now.

I'm glad to see a few more posters than usual lately.

I forget everybody doesn't spend as much time checking as I do.Â* Since
I'm retired, I check several times a day.

Yes, it's nice that there have been a few more lately.Â* I guess that's
what made me notice the absence of posts.

I have nothing new to report. The hurricane missed us here in southern
Florida. Nipsy, Scooter, and Baby are well, and Marlo is still living
at mom's house. We just had mom's 90th birthday party. I'm happy to
read that most people and kitties are ok. I haven't read anything
about Mark though. I'll scan for something about him.

I do have something to announce. Most people wouldn't appreciate it....

OK, a bit of history, and excuse me if you remember this. After poor
Sammy died, too young and very fast from kidney disease, I went through
the usual "I can't bear to get another cat...well, maybe I'll just visit
the shelter" routine, and did eventually visit a shelter looking for a
companion for me and the rather plump and elderly Cinnamon. As a result
a skinny black short-haired young adult female moved in. It didn't go
well. I've introduced cats before, and I tried every trick I knew and
looked on the Internet for more. Cinnamon spent time living under the
loveseat, not wanting to leave even to get to the litter box. Kerry
started over-grooming, which of course triggered more vet visits and
trials of suggested cures. My apartment has an odd layout - long and
narrow. Eventually, I got Cinnamon established in the bedroom at one end
and Kerry in the living area at the other. Time passed. I was able to
leave the bedroom door open, and even move Cinnamon's litter box back in
the large closet - it's alleged to be a bedroom; it's a good size for a
couple of litter boxes, spare little, cat food (locked in a closet) etc.
Cinnamon was rarely seen outside her room; Kerry only went in there at
night (I think she got lonely).

Yesterday, I went to the bedroom to put away some laundry, and did a
double-take. Both cats were stretched out on the bed! Not next to each
other, but not one of them in the back of the closet and the other at
the food bowl, or sleeping on the laundry either.

It's only been a couple of years. If we all live long enough, they may
start cuddling!!

Congrats on the new addition! Best of luck that Cinnamon and Kerry
eventually become fast friends!

Jill
