Default Is there an RB for all???

Do you suppose there's a Rainbow Bridge for fish? I know, a fish is not
fuzzy, soft, cuddly, cute, playful, and "pettable" but.... Our
algae-eater, named "Fish", died last week. We were fond of him and miss
him. He had outlived all others during his 22 years as a tiny creature
that matured into a 13-incher and was the last in the acquarium for
several years. He looked lonely but our fish-experts advised against
adding more to the tank. We worked so hard that last day to save him but
I guess it was just his time to go.

Maybe he's swimming around *under* the Bridge?

The RB is for pets. I wonder if there is one for elephants, lions,
rabbits, mice, antelope, squirrels, chipmunks, et al? Just thinking
(which is something I probably shouldn't be doing).

I suspect that the RB is for all animals; those who have been loved, and
those who have not *yet* been loved.

I get attached to fish, too. And a 22-year-old fish! He had some
amazing good
care. We have an algea-eater that's about 8 inches long and four or
five years old.
I'm sorry you lost him :-(

We had one of those for about 15 years - we had a big tank so he got to be
about 18 inches long and about 6 inches wide - DH had to pick him up with
his hand when he changed out the tank since he was too big for even the big
fish net! He was blind in the last year of his life, but we figured he
deserved to live out his life as long as he could eat and swim.

I think there is a Rainbow Bridge and your "Fish" will be swimming in the
crystal stream that runs underneath it!

(snip)

My dad had aquariums when we were growing up, and my favorites were always
the plecos and the little bronze catfish-- the "cleanup squad." With all
the really pretty fish in the tank, they always seemed like the kids who
weren't so good-looking, who had "personality." We were not lucky enough
to have one live so long.

I think there is a place at The Bridge for every animal or fish.
And they all get along.

I'm sorry you lost him too 22 years old ...wow.

Sherry, is your fish a Plycothclithmas? They have big lips and eat the
algae?
I used to have one name Lucy Lips when I had my tank a lot of years ago.
Quite a nice variety of fish I had....
All my fish died one winter when we lost power

Amen! I never have thought "heaven" was for humans only! (Actually,
given that humans supposedly KNOW the difference between right and wrong
and animals are totally innocent, it would make more sense to wonder
whether there is really a "heaven" for US!)

I firmly believe there's an RB for every creature... but there's an equally
unpleasant place for people who torture and abuse animals (and people).

If you believe there is an RB for pets there is one for your fish for
certain and for hamsters, chickens, everything. Especially tapirs. I've
fallen in love with tapirs recently, I wanted a couple of them when I saw
how great they were on a few zoo TV programs recently
Of course I cannot have a tapir, but omg how I want one. How lovely they
are and how kind to their keepers. Want one, want one..

I had a goldfish given to me when I was 13 (I've no idea how old the fish
was at the time); it lived 9 years more. Seems a pretty long time for what
was essentially a dime-store goldfish.

That poor fish lived in a proverbial goldfish bowl. No aerator, no pump.
Just a glass bowl I cleaned out every week. He (who knows if it was a he?
tolerated me unceremoniously scooping him up in my hand and dumping him into
a pan of water while I rinsed out the gravel and scrubbed the bowl.

In 1975 I got a really cool globe-shaped glass bowl for him; it was
suspended from the ceiling in a beaded macrame hanger. Tres cool! Except
the glass bowl was so thin it shattered the first time I set it in the sink
so I could transfer him to clean it out! The poor fish (his name was
Michael) was in danger of getting cut by shards of glass. I managed to get
him out without a nick. So much for him having a cool pad. LOL He went
back to his regular fish bowl and lived 6 more years in my care.

Long story short, is he swimming around under the RB? Yep, I think so

Jill
