Umm, hey! Hello! Especially to all the old-hands (old-paws) who
remember me?

I've been lurking. For about 3 years. Mainly because I didn't have
much to post about. Well, now I do.

Today, my ex-girlfriend and terribly good chum (one of those
relationships that worked so much better after it had finished; I'm
sure you know what I mean) told me she wanted to show me something in
a shop. I'm still in Hong Kong, by the way. I tagged along to see what
she'd found.

It was kittens.

"They're your birthday present", she said. "Well, not yet because I
know it's a bad idea to gift animals, but if you want them, they're
yours."

"Seriously?"

"Yes."

I inspected them. They are girls, about six months old, and
desperately in need of adoption. They're white and tabby, gorgeous as
you can imagine.

Their names need to be changed. I was introduced to the more outgoing
of the kittens. "She's called Naughty", the adoption lady told me.

"Why?", I asked, but was prevented from further interrogation because
of a kitten attached to the end of my nose and going "rrrrrrrrrrr!"

Then she crawled onto my shoulder, washed my ear, and purred just for
a moment before leaping after a mosquito.

Her sister, Kiki, is far more diffident. She was handed to me, gave me
a brief appraising sniff and a "you'll do" expression and then went
back to her box to watch, dignified, as her sister crashed about the
place going "woo-hoo!".

"So, do you want them?"

"Oh yes. Yes, please."

So papers were signed and I pick them up at the weekend. Pictures
shall soon follow!

That kind of birthday gift doesn't happen very often! I am owned! I am
double-owned!

Kitten anecdotes ahoy!
