We've had some lovely sunny days lately. The cats spend most of the time
I'm home in the enclosure.

But the days are not as lovely as they are! Beautiful kitties, as usual.

And you really don't think Caliban looks much like Roxy? I think there's
a strong similarity in that picture.

OK, granted, Caliban looks wise and kind in your picture, whereas Roxy
looks insane in mine...

Sequel to cat and begonia.

I like how kitty haunches become so flat when they're laying down.

Have I said that I don't think they look alike? If I did, I was wrong.
They definitely look alike, especially around the eyes and nose. But I
think 'wise and kind' is stretching it a bit... 'kind', maybe...
sometimes. But wise? LOL! Miranda is rolling on the floor.

Their markings look more similar in the face than in the body. Roxy
is more of a marbled tabby than a tiger striped tabby, and has more
white on the underbelly and legs, whereas Caliban has mittens and
socks.

You have an amazing memory, Tak. In case anyone is wondering what he is

He may not actually *be* wise, but in that photo, he looks very
thoughtful.

I wonder if there's a correlation between dark-stripey-on-top-and-
white-underneath, and a certain... um... *spaciousness* upstairs? Roxy
is very good at being cute and fetching, and looking pretty, but she's
no rocket scientist.

It always cracks me up to see the difference in how she and Licky
approach predatory play. Licky is dead serious. When he chases a ball,
he runs after it in a straight line, keeping low to the ground, and
intensely focused on the "prey". Roxy will also chase a ball, but at
some point she'll veer off and start scratching the nearest scratching
post in joyful abandon. Chasing, scratching - it's all good.

Yes, the stripe patterns on their bodies are quite different. But they
both have the same big round eyes, white muzzle area, and PINK NOSE!!
Roxy is also a tad chubby, but is otherwise much smaller than Caliban.
She's short and stocky (I love her short legs), with a round, *solid*
belly. But when she was at the vet's a couple of months ago, she weighed
only 10 lbs/4.5 kg, which seems pretty average to me. (Although Smudge
weighs only about 7 lbs (3 kg) - most of her is fluff!)
