Besides the cats' pics, I took a look at a bunch of the other photos

here.

You've done some nice travels. I am sort of mad at myself for not

having

gone to Père Lachaise cemetery when I was in Paris. In my case, not
specifically for Jim Morrison's grave, but just in general. Where was

your

hotel? - the view looks nice. And as an aside - IMO it looks like

you're

one of those lucky people who always looks good in photos!

I have no idea where our hotel was...hehe. I recall it was called the
Relais and it was centrally located on Rue Magenta I think. I'll have to
dig around to see if I can figure it out.

Don't worry - I just Googled it & found it. :-) 38 Magenta, between Ile de
la Cité and Gare du Nord.

Wow. I was right about the street! Amazing!

Tim just got back from the store with some baby food so we'll be trying
that!

I hope he (Jasper) decides to eat some of it.

Cathy

Well, Tim might have better luck eating it.
Jasper is not even interested in sniffing it.

Now the dilemma is do we wait until morning to bring him back to the vet
so that he can get fluid therapy, etc....or do we take him to yet
another strange place (the 911 clinic) and let him get treated there.

Geez. This is tough stuff. I just told Luna she is not allowed to get
sick. Ever.

Pam

Grant is going through massive hairball in stomach that won't move right
now. We are trying to get it out so he doesn't need surgery. With baby food,
I usually have to pat some on his mouth to lick off, and then he decides
"oh, OK, that is good" and will lap it up pretty well. He has gotten worse
today as far as eating so I have resorted to syringe feeding him. Did the
vet give you one of those? Put the baby food in it, and then squirt a little
at a time in the side of his mouth. I'd try that.

Nope. We were not instructed to force feed him. He isn't keeping
anything down anyway. I'm not sure that feeding him anything at this
point is wise.

I really wish there was a way to at least *reach* my vet today rather
than be stuck with only the Animal 911 option. It's not that I dont
trust them, I just feel more comfortable with the vet that has actually
seen and dealt with Jasper.

We honestly don't know what to do right now. He seems calm and
comfortable, but I keep explaining to Tim how stoic these little guys
can be and that it is truly hard to tell how much pain or discomfort he
is in.

Has he eaten anything at all since Thursday? And how much water
has he had?

A few bites of turkey meat yesterday is about all he ate. He might have
had a few bites of chicken last night too. He has had some water but not
a ton. He has vomited about 4 times since yesterday...and since I
cleaned up 3 of them, I know there wasnt much to it...just a
clear/liquidy stuff. Earlier today he was up and moving more. I am
pretty sure he had some water voluntarily then. Other than that, it has
been the ladle sips I gave him. I think he is afraid of more medicine
and wont really let us near his mouth right now.

I am inclined to just leave him alone and call our vet tomorrow with a
report. His discharge papers indicate that is basically what we should do.

That's on the left bank not far from where I stayed! Gare du Nord is a

wide,
pretty boulevard.

Ummm.. nope, it's on the north side of the Seine. Gare du Nord is one of
the train stations.

Hee! Maybe I'm remembering wrong. I don't know Paris bynorth and south, but
Gare du Nord would certainly be Nord. Maybe there is a Boulevard du Nord.
Or a wide, pretty boulevard near Gare du Nord. I did most of it on foot.

It isn't forcing. It is exactly what I did with the turkey baster.

From what Phil said last night I agree with you.

If you have a bad feeling follow your instincts. They can tell if he
is dehydrated and at least hydrate him. Just be sure they tell you
every thing they are going to do before they do it. All they have
to do is be sure he is okay until you can see your regular vet.

Follow your instincts. I think if he were in so much trouble he could not
wait until morning you would know.

Probably so. And at least the emergency clinic is open 24/7 so if things
change, we can take him then. it's not like we are under pressure with a
window of time for their hours of service.

I just recalled the name of the cheap and clean hotel where I once stayed.
Look up Hotel de Medici! It should be near the Sorbonne! I heard a few
years ago that it is still there! It is a funny little old place opposite a
big expensive
place with balconies facing its windows where people kept throwing
parties every night. A bidet and sink in the room, shower and toilet
down the hall!
