I posted new photos
I posted 7 new photos, 3 of my monster kitty, Marbles, who is still
misbehaving. He seemed as though he had improved but yesterday he went after Scottie and today he went after Abbey. Sigh. Soon we're having a workshop built onto our house, this fall, I hope, so that will open our master bedroom up which is currently a workshop that the cats aren't allowed in. I guess we might wind up keeping them separated indefinitely with just an hour or 2 a day where he is out with the others. It's all too weird. Anyway, I also posted a pic of my brother, Henry (my mom's cat), one of Scottie and one of Abbey, and one of my late cat, Cory, with Scottie and Abbey as one big happy family...something we no longer have. I just sent some film in and we had an old roll in one camera so I got 4 more pics of Cory that I don't know we had. That was nice. They're the last 7 photos in the Cat album. Candace (take the litter out before replying by e-mail) See my cats: http://photos.yahoo.com/maccandace "One does not meet oneself until one catches the reflection from an eye other than human." (Loren Eisely) If it helps at all, this Oct. 25 is 2 years from the date I got Pearl. She can actually occasionally play with Grant, Sugar is still a wimp about Pearl, but it's all pretty harmless and sometimes half "fun" when Pearl (rarely) gives chase (and Pearl always stops at the bedroom door), and at meal time Pearl will let Grant briefly sniff her or nuzzle her. There is hope. |

Glad to finally see what Marbles looks like. He's so cute for such a troublemaker. BTW - Have you tried any extended periods of time with Marbles out? Or is he usually hustled back into the room after he chases one of the other cats? I honestly have to wonder if it wouldn't be better to just let him out and let the cats figure out the new arrangement. I can't see how keeping them separate forever is good. My cats chase and wrestle around with each other, but it's all play, with the exception of Bartleby and NewCat. For some reason, she won't stand up to him and if he looks at her funny, she takes off. But, this only happens like a couple times a month or so. Bartleby gets a bug up his butt that he must pick on NewCat. I'm not trying to sound discouraging, and I know others are going to disagree with me. I've been reading about Marbles' intergration and you sound so frustrated. I really hope it does work out. If it doesn't, don't feel like a failure. Maybe you can keep him as a foster while the rescue group finds an "only cat" home for him. There is the occasional scrabble - a *loud* one yesterday - but Demelza is no longer cowed by them for long. Yesterday's deal caused her to remain in hiding for maybe 2 minutes - then she was out & acting normally again. (These things *never* bother Herrie; although, granted, he intiates them!) Cathy |
