First of all, my mom and I thank you for the purrs and prayers
sent our way while she was in the hospital earlier this month.
To make a long story short, the hematologist discontinued my
mother's chemo, while she was in the hospital, a day and a half
early. A recent round of tests revealed no cancer cells in my
mom's blood. In other words, SHE'S IN REMISSION! We don't know
for how long, but to stay in remission she will have lower-dose
"maintenance chemo."

My mom also wanted me to say that she's feeling really good, and
after her platelets transfusion this week, she went out grocery
shopping! She celebrated her sixty-sixth birthday this past
Monday, and there was cake! However, we didn't save any for the
cats.

Thank you again,
Debby Hanoka

Great news! Congratulations, Debby. Purrs and prayers that the lower
dosage continues to do the job.

This is about the best news I've heard in weeks!

I hope that you mother's remission lasts for, oh about 25 years or so.

Seriously.

But if not: remember that EVERY DAY is a gift, from now on.

Spend a LOT of time with her!

Eat at restaurants that are expensive.

Go for drives in the country.

Do all of the things you haven't been able to do with her, for a long
time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^
"Life without cats would be only marginally worth living."
-TC, and the unmercifully, relentlessly, sweet calico kitty, Kenzie.
Every day is a treasure with Kenzie; I try to treat them that way. There
will only be so many, and then there will never, ever, be any more.
How you behave towards cats here below determines your status in Heaven.
YAY! I'm so happy for you and your mom! Purrs will keep coming from my
clowder (and prayers from me) for your mom's continued good health.
