She suffered months of "bullying"? Months? And was awarded $65,000?

Wonder if she has any idea of how long some of us put up with our MIL's?

Of course some MIL's are perfectly lovely. I'm a wonderful MIL according to
my SIL's. And my mother won high praise from all her children-in-law. Much
to the amazement of her children.

But if my MIL and I had lived in the same house there would have been murder
involved. Or at least justifiable homicide. She was a big factor in the
demise of DH's first marriage.

After reading the story, it sounds as if this was more than just
'bullying' and more a case of imprisonment and degradation. An arranged
marriage that definitely didn't turn out well for a variety of reasons.
If what she said is all true and the young woman finallly had the guts
to get out of a very bad situation, I say, more power to her. I don't
advocate suing one's in-laws simply because of disagreements or
personality clashes, certainly. Everybody has someone difficult in
their lives. But at least this woman is calling attention to how her
ex-mother-in-law treated her.
