Default Kitty attacking my gargoyles!!!

For the past several months, I have been becoming quite paranoid that a
local neighborhood miscreant or prankster has been knocking over one or
both of the gargoyles on my front porch.

Months ago, I even set up two camcorders to grab a couple seconds of
video every 30 seconds. One was watching the porch, the other was
watching the driveway and sidewalk leading to the porch. I figured one
or both cameras would have a chance of catching the culprit that way.
A 90-minute tape can hold an entire day's observations.

For about a week I did this during the peak of the gargoyle activity,
but, as you would expect, they never caught anything and the gargoyles
were untouched! I began suggesting to some of my friends that perhaps
they were messing with me. They always claimed to be innocent... of
course... :-)

Well, this morning I opened the front door to take a picture of the
dawn, and a big black and white tabby darted from my porch to the
street where he or she stood and watched me for awhile. And on my
porch, both the gargoyles were knocked over!

One time when this happened in the past, there were drops all over the
porch like dog drool. I still thought it could have been a human
playing tricks, but this morning has me convinced.

I think it's been a cat!! But why would a cat be batting around my
gargoyles??? And what about the slobber??? I guess it's possible that
more than just the cat has been playing with my gargoyles, but why????

Now I want to try and capture this little affair on camera even more!

At least I don't have to be paranoid anymore! I just have to figure
out which one of my neighbors has been putting their cat up to it is
all.

;-)

Have your gargoyles been neutered? If you don't believe in
spaying/neutering, check with your vet about vasectomy for the male gargoyle
and tubal ligation or non-ovario-hystrectomy for the female.

Vasectomy will allow the fountain to continue functioning. If your pool is
not large enough, this may eventually cause problems. This should probably
not be attempted with indoor-only gargoyles, especially in cases of
metamorphic upthrust basalt.

The female gargoyles may be kept in the house but will regularly need prompt
service from the male, especially the more melodious Nouveau or Deco
females.

More recent breeds of gargoyle tend to epoxy, so ask your vet what extra
vaccinations they might need.
