My Buggy Boys :(
Well, both of them do have fleas, which Dante obviously brought in. I wish I had spotted them a little earlier-- like BEFORE I BROUGHT HIM HOME. Oh well, What's done is done. My heart is breaking for poor Stinky who has never known such an indignity in all the years he's lived here. They've been Frontlined, and now I have to bomb the rooms. As for the winged beastie-- the vet went over both of them thoroughly with a flea comb, and we could not find another one, so it's still a mystery. The vet suggested that my eye happened to be caught by an errant fly that had landed on him at the moment-- but to call him if anything liek that turns up again. They are both amazingly bright-eyed and bushy tailed, and the vet said it was good, we caught the infestation before it was able to really start sapping them. Now of course, poor Stinky is highly indignant, and Dante is running around like his little pinhead self, chasing a little jingle ball. You know, I'd hold off bombing the place at the moment (YMMV). I don't like using insecticide at the best of times, particularly on ethat is going to get literally everywhere. In my limited experience, if the infestation on the critters wasn't heavy, the Frontline is good enough by itself to get rid of the fleas, because it interrupts their breeding cycle. Whatever eggs the fleas have laid will not be viable anyway because of the frontline, and there's no need to bomb. Just a thought, anyway. Yowie |
