BK's obsession
"BK" (Black Kitty) is a weirdo. He's obsessed with water and anything
related to water. You've seen the photos of him sitting in the kitchen sink while the water's running, getting all wet (and not minding), while watching the water go down the drain. By extension, he's also fascinated by the items that are kept near the sink. He likes to move these items to random places in the apartment. Tonight I came home and found: - the steel wool scouring pad on the kitchen floor - the blue plastic vegetable scrubber on the dining area floor - the dish sponge on the living room floor This water obsession apparently also extends to his water bowl. He likes to put various objects in it. Tonight I found a garbage twistie tie and a small plastic cat that's (usually) part of a collection of decorative items on my bedside table. What does this mean?? Joyce (but now he's curled up in my arms, purring innocently) |

I wish Gizmo liked water. She runs as soon as she hears the tap. She'll
drinkw ater fro her bowl but thats about it. She won't go outside if its raining and looks at the garden hose like its the arch enemy or something. If I am watering she'll sit up on the fence in "atack" pose...you all know the one. However this hatred of water didn't stretch to the fish bowl when she helped herself to my goldfish (after watching them intently for 3 months). I guess the temptation of the fish overwhelmed the water hatred Purrs Angela wrote in message ... "BK" (Black Kitty) is a weirdo. He's obsessed with water and anything related to water. wrote "BK" (Black Kitty) is a weirdo. LOL! Aren't all cats? Haven't you decided on a name yet? Anyway, Nikki is just as weird. She puts toys in her water dishes, and sometimes she puts food there, as well. The funniest is when I give the cats fresh herrings, and she dunks them in the water, as if expecting them to swim. She likes lying in the wash basin and when I turn on the water, she just lies there, wondering why Meowmie is laughing at her. She may glance up to see where the water is coming from, but it doesn't disturb her at all. I suppose it's not surprising that she went swimming for those water voles last summer. -- Marina, Frank and Nikki marina (dot) kurten (at) pp (dot) inet (dot) fi |

It means BK's "stash" is underwater (slightly more inconvenient than one of our RB cat's under-the-bed "stash" of purloined goodies).....and BTW, are you sure this tuxedo-colored dude is not a Turkish Van (they love water) in a tuxedo? LOL, who knows? Maybe he is. I haven't actually seen him immerse himself in water - I'm not sure he'd go that far. Oh, another item I found in his water bowl was a peeling from a butternut squash. I had peeled the squash over the sink, and I left the peelings in there because it was too late in the evening to run the garbage disposal (my neighbor's bedroom is right underneath my kitchen). So he must have jumped into the sink, grabbed a peeling in his mouth, and dumped it into the water bowl. He's a character - lots of fun! (Except when I can't find the sponge... ) Joyce |
