Treating Earmites
Hi,
I posted on here at the weekend about Mollie and her itchy ears. Well, we took her to the vet tonight, and the vet said her ears are crawling with earmites, and, seeing as we have no other animals, she must have come to us with them. She was 7 weeks when we got her, she's now 16 weeks. I feel so bad that she has been suffering this long without me noticing. I just never noticed her scratching exsessively. Oh well, he has given us Auroto drops to put in - 3 drops twice a week for 4 weeks. I was just wondering whether anyone had any experience with this medicine? Jo |

When my cats got earmites (from the vet, I suspect. Well, not from the vet herself, y'understand) I just zapped 'em with Revolution and Bob's yer father's brother. Far less trouble than drops in the lug 'oles. Steve. |

One thing you can do in addition to the drops is to clean the ears gently with a cotton swab moistened with rubbing alcohol. This kills mites and gets rid of the dung they leave behind. |
