Default Cat Litter Recommendation

I feel a bit like a fool. For months I've been using Cat's Pride 'Fresh and
Light' litter in the bright green 15 lb. jug. It's reasonably priced,
around $6.50 USD. It clumps and scoops very well. I can usually scrounge
up a coupon for $1 off, too. The regular scoopable 10 lb. jug is slightly
lower priced at about $5. I fell victim to marketing, buying jugs of cat
litter.

A few days ago when I went to the dollar store, they were out of the big
green jug. They only had one lonely jug of the regular Cat's Pride scoop.
Then I looked up. Why have I never looked at the shelf above before? 10
lb. *bags* of Cat's Pride Scoopable clumping litter... $2.75. OMG! I can't
believe I never noticed it before.

Sorry to sound like a commercial but I love this stuff. We (Persia and I)
don't notice a difference. It's very low dust, clumps extremely well and is
very easy to scoop. No perfumes (I can't stand litter that "covers up"
odors. No need for that if you keep the box clean. And the bag vs. the jug
is so much less expensive! I recommend this cat litter.

Bags are also easier to recycle. And scented cat litter always smells
like cat pee and poop, but with perfume.

Speaking of which, maybe Persia will be willing to poop in that stuff!

Oh, it's not that she's been unwilling to poop in the box. Her doing that
is only occasional, which is what had me puzzled. She still uses the box.
A few times I've been in a rush and have forgotten to take up the bath mat.
When I go back she hasn't pooped on it, she's used the box. And she's
*never* urinated on it. I suspect she likes the scent of *me* on the bath
mat

She likes this new (same branded) litter just fine. Thank Bast it doesn't
stink of perfume! I hate that. The price is absolutely right, too
