What is a petting stroke

I heard Blink use the term, I've never heard it.

I've searched over 8 billion web pages and still can't find the term.

Since then, I'm thinking it's where you over pet the cat creating a
stress on the cats heart.

I know for example if you're rubbing say your girl-friends (un-hairy)
legs and you're squeezing, it is best to move the blood towards the
heart.

Laugh if you want, but with this definition, I could see that
happening. Edgar Allen Poe also mentioned something about hurting his
pets through affection.

I give my cat backrubs. He will come and find me and sit with his back
to me and meow till I give him his rub. Since it is hard to decide what
is too much for them, I'm just a post, I let him lean back on my
fingers, this way he regulates the pressure.

He gets a lot of backrubs.

Oh my GOD........this place is getting scarier and scarier as time
goes on.......people changing their names.......geesh.....soon
everyone will be throwing purrs around and talking like cats like that
other group.......petting stroke for heavens sake......did you wonder
why 8 billion web pages didn't have any info on it.....??.....You
better cut out the back rub thing all together what if your freaking
finger twitched and you killed the poor animal......

I mean sure, Kelly is the Mayor of Crazy Town, but then there are the
town membmers.

It reminds me of the cartoon where the kid is playing with the cat and
carrying the cat around by its neck (cat's ears are down, eyes bulging, legs
hanging limp). Since the cat loves the little boy, it is to be endured.

I had this happen once to Dora, a super loveable big white/red tabby.

I came home from work, let him in the house, he was even more happy and
excited to see me than usual. He was like this every day, every morning
he would wake me up just before my alarm by sitting on my chest and
meowing in my face, he was SO cute. He was a one in a million cat, I
used to say it all the time and not just after he was gone.

I was petting him as our daily comming home gretting, again he was very
excited, jumping, standing, and rolling. I walked down the hall and he
let out a very loud unnatural sounding moew. I went back and saw him
laying on the floor struggling for life and a minute or two later he
was gone.

I talked to the Dr. and he said it could have been a brain hemorage,
heart attack, or seizure of some kind. This unfortunatly is a true
story and the worst moment of my life, it was about a year and a half
ago.

Well shoot! I'm sorry to hear that. That really bites.

I've been doing a tad of research, you don't attribute his passing with
petting do you? The theory is there, but in practice, I think the worst
extreme habitual petting could do, is make the cat lazier. Your one in
a million dollar cat would have let you know if you was "hurting" him,
you know. From what I've been reading, it's all kind of self leveling.

I brought this up, because I do give Ruprecht lots of massages. He
keeps coming to me, especially after he wakes up, and after he eats.

Let me back up and punt! I had a girl-friend who gave me frequent
massages, and one night, I guess she was just tense or something, but
she was working on my back and basically, like a ketchup packet she was
pushing the blood towards my head. I couldn't say nothing at the time I
didn't wanna hurt her feelings, it was not very un-comfortable, but
short story, it gave me a migraine for days. This was the last time I
let it happen. (oh nooo.. I'm good thanks...none for me please..lol)

Karl I hope you don't somehow blame yourself and your petting as
contributing to his death.......it was just one of those things and
his last memories were of having the person he loved petting him...
