Default News of an old kitty pal

I buy cat food and litter at a small chain pet food place near my house.
Today I happened to be in another neighborhood, where I saw one of their
other stores, so I went in. They were having a kitty adoption! It was the
same feral cat rescue folks who used to have adoptions at my local store,
but they had gotten kicked out last year, because other stores in that
plaza complained. (Idiots - animals *attract* business!) Anyway, the rescue
group found a new location, ie, the store I was at today.

So I chatted with the rescue people and asked how Everett was doing.
Remember Everett, the mostly-white kitty I fostered from them briefly
last year? ( http://home.sonic.net/~jwermont/cats...t/everett.html ).
They had him in foster care, and at the weekly adoptions, for at least
a year. Poor guy! Also, he has a very handsome stripey brother named
Eddie, who was also at the adoptions every week. They couldn't compete
with the 2-month-old kittens, I guess.

Well, it turns out that both Everett and Eddie have found homes! Hooray!!
The rescue group had to find some other way to get them adopted, and
they were able to get both of them into a local no-kill shelter. There's
a lot more foot traffic at the shelter, so they had plenty of exposure.
I'm so glad they finally got adopted!

There were some real cuties at the adoption today.

Everett was such a cutie. Glad he and his brother found good homes.

Yes, it's difficult for an adult cat to compete with cute kittens for
adoption. Duffy was in a shelter for several months before I saw him. On
the other hand, even a very high percentage of kittens will be euthanized
because there are not enough people available to adopt. So, your story with
the happy ending is *doubly* great to read. Thank you!!
