Default yet another woodland dropoff, sigh.

X-No-Archive: Yes

Old Mine Rd has one home on its 7.5mi length and it's my favorite
bikeride. Except for the heartache and trouble trying to rescue the
dropoffs by sub-humans in an area where they have little chance of
survival. Case, who I did catch, had no hunting skills whatever. The
day she caught a grasshopper and brought it to me with muffled glee was
her signal moment. I felt even more pride for her when I found she had
eaten it.

Anyway. A healthy-looking black-with-white-socks was in the road as I
zipped over a rise. I stopped where it ran into the brush and made
catsounds while I got out a tin of food, popped the lid (hoping it would
recognize the sound) and tapped it with a tire pry, still talking to it
before putting it down and backing away. I never did hear any movement
or sound though, and so wasn't surprised when I returned an hour later
and the food hadn't been touched. Just have to keep an eye out for it
-- hopeful but not expectant. Stopped to see if the black cat fed by
the inn's custodian was around for a treat but, no, so the clowder at
home got a very unexpected noon treat. Maybe Tomorrow (Everly Bros, or
Eagles, your pick :- ) Norm

Lots of purrs and best wishes for you to find the poor kitty and a family
who would love to be adopted by her/him,
