Default A SAD GOODBYE

VICTOR VELCRO, HOUSE OF WELTON.

Poor Victor Velcro was 20 years old when he went to Rainbow Bridge last
Saturday,
He had a urinary tract/bladder infection and the medicine the EVIL TED
made Victor go blind, and then he just went downhill from there.
The name of the medicine is Baytric or Baytril .
To the humans here, if your furkid gets that kind of infection, do NOT let
the vet give them that drug! SRSLY.
I feel so bad for the Welton family. Our Mommy is good e mail friends with
Victor Velcro's Mommy from the human cat group.
Play hard at the Bridge, Victor Velcro. You were very loved and are missed
by a lot of people and your kitty housemates.

Love, purrs from us kitties, and prayers for comfort for the humans from
Mommy Kyla .

Mosey, MeOwy, PookyKat, Sqweex, Pipps and our Mommy Kyla [who has MMS]

Farewell, Victor. You are one of the first cats I remember reading about
when we first came to RPCC. You will be missed.

We will all be purring for Victor's humans.

Human note: Always, the choice of medication must balance risk against
the benefit.

Using Baytril to treat a urinary tract infection was a very, very poor
choice. Urinary tract infections are usually fairly easy to treat using
one of the penicillin derivatives... or one of the many other
antibiotics available to treat bacterial infections in cats.

Baytril should ONLY be used to treat very serious bacterial infections,
where other antibiotics have failed, and/or the infection presents a
very high risk to the life of the cat.

That veterinarian should have his license to practice veterinary
medicine removed, because he's obviously criminally incompetent.

Thank you for the warning about Baytril. I had to look it up, and I
immediately found the warning about the risk of causing blindness to
when used in cats.

If I can find that in 3 minutes on the 'net, the vet should have KNOWN
this, and NOT used Baytril to treat a urinary tract infection.

If this had happened to me, I would be camped on the sidewalk in front
of the vet's clinic, handing out fliers to potential victims of this
vet, warning them of his criminal negligence, and stupidity.

Human response:
Gandalf, you are very welcome for the warning about Baytril causing
blindness in cats.
I am SO upset about this, I am in tears.
I tried to e mail VV's Mommy about this but haven't gotten a reply, about
that yet.
His Mommy and I are good e mail friends.

Yes, that TED should have his license revoked. What a dunce!
