Default Sumatra Earthquake!

Did anyone feel this one? (preliminarily 6.8) It was in the ocean -
are there any tsunami warnings out?

Big quake hits Indonesia's Sumatra
Monday, July 4, 2005; Posted: 10:35 p.m. EDT (02:35 GMT)

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- A strong earthquake rocked a large swath of
Indonesia's Sumatra Island on Tuesday, shaking buildings and causing
panic, witnesses and a meteorological official said.

Officials were still measuring the quake which struck off the west
coast of the island at 0852 local time (0152 GMT), said Budi Waluyu,
from the government's geophysical and meteorological agency.

"It was strongly felt," across west Sumatra and outlying islands, he
said.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Geological Survey issued a preliminary report
placing saying the quake measured 6.8.

There were no immediate reports of damage.

Callers to el-Shinta radio station from Medan, a large city on
Sumatra, said tall buildings shook as a result of the quake and some
residents ran from their homes.

I winced when I saw the words "Sumatra" and "earthquake" in the same
headline. ( The people in that region have suffered so much already. The
last thing they need is to have more casualties and/or damage from another
earthquake... or, God forbid, another tsunami.

Thank goodness, this didn't cause another tsunami. The quake, though...
yikes! 6.8's pretty potent. I hope no one was hurt.
