Default TW: Sad anniversary

Today is the anniversary of our beloved Quetzie's passing to the RB.
Every year I go back and read the post I wrote in the grief support
newsgroup and every year it makes me cry. Big time TW if you want to
read it:

I know exactly how you feel I always have a little (or not so little)
cry when it's the anniversaries of Fugazi and Isis' journeys over the
RB. As they are both in April (along with the Fabulous Furballs
birthday) I always have to get extra tissues in and make the "Early
spring allergies" excuse at work

Isn't it such a sad inevitability that the more little darlings we let
into our
hearts the more sad anniversaries we'll have to endure. Commiserations
on yours. A most moving tribute to a very special guy called well before
his time.

I shall always be depressed on Feb 5th (Pericles) March 10th (Kensey)
and December 18th (Aries). I actually remember these dates more
easily than the current FF's birthdays. But this is the price of having
pets who live so much shorter lives than ours and one that has to be
borne. How I wish there was another way, as I'm sure we all do.

Consoling purrs to you, Victor, & to all who loved Quetzie.

{{{{{{{{{{Victor}}}}}}}}}}. I'm glad to work from home at times like these
when I can sob without restraint. Quetzie sounds like he was a *VERY*
special kitty. By remembering him with love, and sharing his life with
others, you are keeping him alive in all our hearts.

Special deep rumbling purrs are headed your way to hopefully help ease your
pain.

Hugs,

CatNipped

I too have lost a pet that I loved so much I didn't think I could get over
her death. My dog, Pollyanna. I was 18 when I got her I would be ashamed
to say what I did immediately after I buried her.
I had some other dogs after that. All well loved, but not just quite up to
Poll standard.
Years later came Mink, a whippet. She too, crept into my heart like
Pollyanna. When I lost her through kidney failure aged 19 I thought that
the end of the world had come. I cannot even describe how much I loved her
and how devastated I was.
My colleagues did the usual thing "sorry about your dog" (in the
background "get over it, for goodness' sake, it's a DOG, get yourself
another one.."

I send purrs for the remembrance of Quetzie, Victor, He will always be
embedded in your heart. I know how it is.

I feel that way about Snoopy, I've loved every cat and dog that's shared
my life but Snoopy is so special. I really don't know what will happen
to me when she goes, if she went now I know I wouldn't cope.

Those anniversaries are reallly hard. You may want to think about
doing something special to honor Quetzie's memory today. Plant
something, write something, make a donation to a shelter, or whatever
you feel. The first after Mojo's was a tough one for me, but it got
better after that.

It made me cry, how much more painful it must be for you to remember,
Victor. I'm so sorry. Next Monday would have been Nikki's 17th birthday.
I'm dreading the day. {{{Victor}}}

Empathetic sorrow for you, Victor. We never forget the beloved
and can never quite let loose of the awful pain of loss. "A pet is
not forever but its loving memory is." Consoling thoughts during this
sad time.
