It's quiet - too quiet
I just dropped Brother and Sister at the vet's, for their surgery tomorrow. The place is quiet. No thumpety bumpety klump of small wildebeests thundering down the hall, no trying to keep wild hyenas from stealing supper as it cooks, no furtive glances out of the corner of my eye to see if I am being stalked by ravenous lions. No drive by cuddles or stealth purrs, and I know the bed will be just a little less warm while they are gone. I miss the little bratlings already. I know what you mean. Miss Willow decided she would not come in from the
garage last night, and is was pretty cold. She has been sleeping right under Sadie Dog and last night I could not get that dog to settle no matter what I did. I finally put water, food and a wooden box with a blanket out and sent her out with Willow. Two hours later, she wanted in but Willow didn't. So, in came Sadie cold as all get out and Willow stayed until Miz Piglet went after her this morning. I heard a howl and they both came in. I found a wet spot on Willows ear so assume Pig took charge of the situation and convinced Willow to get in where it was warm. Took the poor thing three hours to warm up. Needless to say, she hasn't been near the door all day!!!. "Mark Edwards" wrote in message ... I just dropped Brother and Sister at the vet's, for their surgery tomorrow. The place is quiet. Every so often, Molly acts like she has forgotten that she has a nice warm home and has been a house cat for four years now. You would think she had been abandoned for weeks the morning after when she comes blazing in as Kayla goes out at dawn. She is getting better and more comfortable at sleeping on our bed, to the point where she waits until we are both up before she gets up in the morning. Jake is up and out with whoever gets up first, but is back inside and back in bed within a few minutes. Jo |
