Blind cat
My cat recently went to the vet as she is 17 yrs. old & her skin tore so she
needed stitches & all worked out ok.She came home with a cone around her neck & I was told not to let jump or climb until her stitches came out & gave her antibiotics for the 2 weeks she wore the cone. Then we took her back to have the stitches removed & the cone too. She came back & we started letting her roam around the house again. She has never been an outside cat except when we take her to the vet. Well, her eyes are dialated & won't go down so we think the trama was what caused it as she was fine before she went to the vet. Is there a cure or anything that can be done to restore her back or we just have to live her the way she is now. We won't get rid of her & do love her very much. What do we do any suggestions Please, Was wondering if anyone has gone thru this. |

I'm not aware of anyone else who has gone through this with their cats, but many years ago my dog experienced something similar. Several visits to the a veterinary allergy specialist got her vision back. I'm sorry, but I don't remember what her condition was called or what drugs were prescribed - it was a couple decades ago. I'd say that a visit to the vet would probably be in order. It might be something that's easily treatable. If not, it's not the end of the world. A lot of cats do experience loss of vision, and they generally adapt quite well and live happy, fulfilling lives afterwards. There are people with blind cats on this group. Dan |
