Default Pics and vids: Mir on demolished chair

I have an old chair that Frank and Nikki started working on years ago to
make it into a proper cat chair - i.e. ripping it to shreds. Caliban has
continued the project to this day. I usually drape a bedspread over the
chair to hide the destruction, but today I decided to wash the
bedspread. Ultra-conservative and anti-any change, Miranda has been
sitting on it and pawing at the sides, obviously displeased that the
bedspread is gone. Then she settled down for a wash.

Here's some video of my skinny girl and the chair:

That is truly one cat approved chair. LOL.

Mir, as always, looks beautiful, healthy, and content. You're a good meowmy
who even provides a proper chair for the owners.

Yeah. I put the bedspread back, still warm from the dryer, and she gave
the whole chair a wide berth all evening.

Thank you, Pam. When I first got her, I called her Alien and Spacecat
because she looked so different from the moggies I was used to, but now
she's been transformed in my eyes to the most beautiful, almost
unworldly little Bast statuette.

I'm happy to say that, after eating only raw meat ever since she was
weaned (some 3.5 years ago), she is as healthy as she looks. I'm always
a bit concerned that she may not be getting all the necessary nutrients
from mere muscle meat, but I had the vet check her thoroughly this
spring, and all her tests came back excellent. The only thing is, she's
a bit underweight, but she just won't eat any more food, so what are you
going to do? There's so little fat on the meat in the shops, it's not
going to help pad her up.

Probably grumbling to herself how you ruined the whole thing. I am sure
they will have it "fixed" in short order, though.

What meat(s) do you feed her? You feed it bones and all correct? I worry
about the brothers teeth down the line and have read that chomping on whole
raw meat is good for teeth as they scrape the meat from the bone.

I don't give her bone. It's difficult to even find meat on the bone in
the shops here. The complement pills I give her contain calcium, among a
lot of other nutrients, and luckily she likes them (the only product
specifically manufactured for cats, which she will eat).

I had her teeth cleaned this spring, because I thought she might be on a
hunger strike because of them, but the vet said she didn't really need
it. We did it anyway, since she hadn't eaten in several days. It was her
first dental, and not a necessary one, as it turned out.

Caliban, who is younger, but who also sometimes eats tinned food or even
kibble, has had to have a couple of dentals already. It seems to me that
the meat (given in large enough chunks that they have to work on them)
keeps their teeth in better shape.

Mainly, I give them beef. If I find organic pork, I get them that.
Turkey once a month or so. I used to buy chicken wings with the bone in,
but they made such a mess with them. For some reason, Caliban had to
drag his chicken wing around the flat, dipping it in the water bowl and
dragging it along the floor (ah, channelling Nikki I think) before he
would start gnawing on it while growling all the time. He would
invariably leave a messy, bloody, half-eaten chicken wing somewhere for
me to step on (the only thing he hasn't hoovered up in seconds).

Caliban wanted me to let you know he is on it.
