I was walking to lunch the other day and one was running in front of me on my exact path and it totally reminded me of one of our cats when we are bringing them food or soemthing. Wont move fast enough but wont get out of the way. LOL. We call that 'following in front.' Perfect name for it! |

Parents embarrassing their children (was: OT Baby skwerls!)
John F. Eldredge wrote:
This reminds me of a funny memory from high school. My high school biology teacher told us about the time when his twin sons were babies, and caught diarrhea. He described how difficult it was to get the cloth diapers clean and dry in time before they were needed again (and, no, I don't remember what train of thought led to this discussion). Unfortunately, his twins were among the students in the class as he was telling the story. They slid down in their seats with the most dismayed expression I have ever seen on anyone's face. "Dad, no, you can't tell THAT story to my friends...". If I remember correctly, we were all 15 years old at the time. Oh, that is *mean*!! I can't think of a worse age at which to have this done to you. It's bad enough when your parents tell embarrassing baby stories about you to one or two of your friends when you're a teenager, but to have your parent be the teacher, telling an entire classroom, in front of me?? At least there were two of them, to give each other moral support. -- Joyce To email me, remove the triple-X from my user name. ^..^ |

They're bold from having been fed by students, and they'll practically take your lunch away from you. Sherry There is a place on the California coast just north of Pebble Beach where squirrels live in the rocks between the road and the ocean. Its always been a favorite spot to take our kids and grandkids. I remember many forays into the stores to find plain peanuts in the shell just for them. Not saying they get bold, but we have not only had them all over us, we've had a couple we had to shoo out of the car when we wanted to leave. Jo |
