You have sharo eyes. Actually, it's not so much hidden as easily
available from all parts of the room. The TV separates my 'office space'
from my 'living-room space'. Usually I only need said cat warning device
in the mornings, when I'm sitting at the computer and Caliban is trying
to annoy me into giving him breakfast. I only have to touch said device
for him to stop what he is doing and run and hide. eg

A certain ladycat is not best pleased that Santa brought me a lovely
wide/flatscreen monitor for my computer at Christmas...
