Bear was a big ol' some kind of Alaskan breed or something -- beautiful long-haired white dog with blue eyes. Wolfie is a long-haired white cat with blue eyes. Bear loved winter. Wolfie goes bonkers and gets really excited at the sight of snow. Wolfie adores playing with balls, all types and sizes. If it rolls, he's into it. He'll pick up small ones in his mouth and trot around with one, just like a dog. And he "heels". Seriously! He will walk next to me, and follow me, stopping when I do, turning around when I do, just like a dog! The funniest thing just happened a few days ago. We try (and fail) to keep the kitties off the coffee table. I usually command "Down!" in a sharp voice to try to get them to get down from the table. Well, the other day I ordered Wolfie "Down!" from the table, but instead of getting down from the table as he should have, he *lay* down! lol! Guess he understood the dog command, and not what I meant. Oh, and he plays dead beautifully. Rolls over on his back, eyes open, doesn't move. He's snoozing, but it drives DH absolutely crazy! By the way, if I haven't already sent purrs, which I think I haven't, best to Shasta for some speedy relief, and to you, CATherine, for being such a good caretaker to her.
