One of the problems with a thread like this one is that it has become so entangled that it is often difficult to know who actually what wrote which words. Bah! I have completely run out of sympathy for Sheelagh on this issue. She seems to run into this problem almost on a daily basis. Above, she is responding to comments directed not toward her, but toward her fellow babbling Brit, Ms. Bookie. The solution is to GET A DECENT NEWSREADER. I am trying out the newest version of Forte Agent, which will cost US$29 if I decide to keep it past the trial period. Another option is Gravity, which doesn't cut the mustard for binary groups but is good enough for general use in discussion groups, and is free to download and use forever. Either would be a huge improvement compared with Google's web interface. Charlie- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - I wasn't looking for sympathy Charlie- merely pointing out that I didn't understand why my posts were associated with this problem, given that I had said nothing to warrant this. OTOH, thanks for the news regarding Gravity. I will try that. To be utterly honest, the only reason that I haven't got one so far is because I don't have a credit card @ all. I don't use them, I have to deal in cash only.. I did try using outlook express in the days when Barry was helpful and accommodating. He took me through it step by step, only to find out in the end that I couldn't even use that, because if you have hotmail, you have to pay a fee to use outlook express as my news reader.(back to square one again!!) If I want to order off the Internet, I have to get someone to order/ pay on my behalf & I give them the cash required to do this for me. I didn't particularly want to tell the world about this, but after this, I don't think it really matters to me anymore. It's not the amount of money that it costs really, it is the embarrassment of having to ask! I hope this explains why I haven't done so, so far?
