Lee First, why on earth would you want to. Second, if I remember right from a very smelly visit to a sugar mill, molasses is a by product of sugar production. If thats the case, molasses would be left over after the sugar was made. Jo |

I want to make cookies and am out of brown sugar, and DH is on his way to
Chicago to visit his mother before her surgery tomorrow so I have no way to get to the store, and you are correct, it is a by product, I am trying to figure out if A. I can do it, and B if the senior moment I appear to be having is a real or imagined memory I am recalling incorrectly, Lee Jo Firey wrote in message ... The recommended amounts I saw used were 1 cup of sugar and 1-2 tablespoons of molasses stirred together evenly (with a fork, but use whatever you want). Amount of molasses depends on how dark brown sugar you want. -- Christine in Laitila, Finland christal63 (at) gmail (dot) com photos: http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/bb108/christal63/ photos: http://community.webshots.com/user/chkr63 |
