It's about nine weeks old now but the kitten has never ever eaten meat. Have you tried hand feeding ground meat? Offer warm (tbs size) chunk by bringing it close to her mouth and see if she accepts it. If she doesn't, open her mouth and put tiny bit in at that time and try later again, but eventually she should accuire taste for it. =) -- Jari Vuoksenranta "170 226 2245 3042 400" |

In the last couple of days the kitten has started eating some dry food
but still won't touch cat food meat. I've tried both adult and kitten cat food. For my fat cat I've tried cutting its meals so hopefully that problem will be solved. I was just shocked because of its sudden increase in weight. |

Don't feed them raw meat/fish.
Possibility of bacteria is too high. And a kitten would have an even harder time fending off such things. In the last couple of days the kitten has started eating some dry food but still won't touch cat food meat. I've tried both adult and kitten cat food. It's good that your kitten is eating. It is eating kitten food right? If not she or he should be. As for the not eating canned kitten food. My male cat when he was a kitten was like that. I went through just about every brand available before I found something he would eat. Go to a pet store and buy a can of each until you find something your kitten will eat. Especially if he is a male cat is is best for your kitten to eat canned food. For my fat cat I've tried cutting its meals so hopefully that problem will be solved. I was just shocked because of its sudden increase in weight. How old is he? How much does he weigh? He should be probably eating lite food in any case. Increasing his activity level can only help as well. |

om... In the last couple of days the kitten has started eating some dry food but still won't touch cat food meat. I've tried both adult and kitten cat food. Dry food is fine-both my kitties only eat dry food and are healthy and happy. I tried to give them a treat the other day by bringing home some Felidae canned food and they were polite-ate a few bites but didn't dive right in. I ended up throwing it away. Not all cats are "meat" eaters (not to say they are vegans but that they don't all dig the wet stuff). Don't forget to take the kitten to a vet soon! |
