This is not off topic, honestly. Mike was chatting on line with his sister,
Amanda, and I hijacked the laptop and told him to take a break and talk to
his cat. So he called home. Now none of our other cats have had a problem
with hearing our voices on the phone or answering machine. QC used to drool
and rub against whatever our voices were coming out of, so I had no
expectation of what happened next.

I held the cell phone to Qui Gun Kit's ear and his eyes went huge and his
ears laid back and he got that "Bugs Bunny" face that they get when they are
totally wierded out. The Crackhead looked at me, looked at the phone,
looked back at me, then back at the phone and he looked like he was going
into panic mode. I could tell he was wondering HOW I got Mike in that
little monster. He backed away from it until he got to the door then turned
tail and ran down the hall. He didn't come back into the room while I was
awake.

This morning, he acted as if last night had never happened. Until the phone
rang.

Pam S. still trying not to laugh.

Hey, we've got to get back at them sometimes! LOL. If we leave for a day,
we usually call ours up and leave a message for our masters on the answering
system. We're never there to see their responses, but I'll bet they're
similiar. :~)

Like when Dave was in hospital and I got him a mobile phone so we
could stay in touch (hospital pay phones are a rip off!) and the first
night I came home and he texted me to say "I'm off to bed now
goodnight" and I texted him to say if he called me I could put my
speaker on so he could say goodnight to the cats so he did.

They both looked completely confused as soon as they heard his voice
but came running up to sniff the phone and purred down it so he was
talking to them and they were purring and rubbing their heads against
the phone- once he hung up, they both stared at the phone and Sarsi
patted it a couple of times then gave a look and I suspect she was
trying to say "So that's where you hid him but when are you going to
let him out of there?"
