Default My best game so far.

Managed to Score 260970 last night after clearing the screen.

And did that stop me?

My guess would be "no" ;-)

I had a game about that score.

Question: how long does it take to get that high a score? I've never
come close to that - my games usually end in the high 5 figures, say
70 or 80K (post-doubling). And a game with that ending score takes
at least an hour to play. I can't imagine being able to sit on my butt
long enough to break 200,000! Or do other people play faster than I do?
I don't exactly sit and contemplate each shot as though I'm playing a
chess game, so my games proceed at a reasonable clip.

I had a game about that score. The problem is that I discovered how
to keep a game going and going. I've been trying to see what
triggers "end of game" and it seems that if there isn't enough room
to add new rows, the game is over. Yowie posted some of the
observed rules of new rows, which never seemed to make sense but
does now, if you always make sure you have room for at least 4 rows
at the bottom as the green bubbels on the right start running out,
the game won't end. Concentrate on those low rows when the screen
gets really filled up and soon you can get it back to where there
is enough room when it has to add more.

The clue is to keep up the number of colours. As soon as you are down to two
colours, you're near the end. So keep three colours going, and as few lines
as possible, and you could play for a very long time... I tried that tactic
today, and I reached 233800 (cleared) before I deliberately had to make an
end to it. Tonight I am going to test how far I can get, doing it this way.

Hans
