Default SHop cat

I went to a pet supply store in town today that sells Wellness. I figure it
would be really good to try it out on them again. Pearl will probably love
it (little hog) but it would be nice to have some choices. Last time I tried
they were only eating dry. Now Grant (well before he got sick) likes
Petguard as long as the batch is juuuuuust right. So I thought I might have
more success getting him to try this too. Anywho, at this store they had
three dogs and a cat. The dogs of course follow you all over and are quite
nice. A boxer, a heeler and a little something something dog. I saw the cat
at the register when I came in, but went looking for my food first. I heard
the customer saying something about green eyes. After I found my food I went
up toward the counter and I could see the cat behind a bunch of racks, but
just glimpses of him. However, once I got up to the register the second I
put my stuff down he came ruuuuuuunning over, jumped on the register counter
and started head bonking me HARD in the chest and then playing with the
strings on my jacket, sniffling at my purse and chewing on the handles and
purring super hard the whole time. Such a LOVE bug!! He was pale marmalade
and then he looks at you. My word. Emerald, EMERALD green eyes. Just
stunning. I've never seen anything like him before. I think they said his
name was La Bouche and he was about 2. The guy at the counter said that he
just waits for people to put their stuff down so that he can run over and
snoop. So that was just a lovely little moment in the day. And a very good
reason to go back to that store!

YES! Orangey boy behavior for sure.

Store animals always make me feel good--- I'm lucky enough to habe
three local stores with cats I visit regularly. But I'm really
jealous of my friend in Ohio, who patronizes a liquor store with a
*rabbit.* He likes to ride around the store in the restocking cart.

I never saw a shop dog before. I love shop kitties, especially the
friendly ones.

"Katz" had some very interesting things to
say about SHop cat:

We had an office dog at a past job of mine (he was definitely one of
the sanest inhabitants in that office, and did rather well in the
intelligence rankings, too :-) ).

The liquor store I go to on occasion has a "shop dog". Just a big friendly
mutt with a big brushy tail; he greets everyone who comes in the door with a
swish of that tail and a doggie grin

Not exactly a "shop dog," but the massage therapist I see when I can
afford it recently got a beautiful dog, Chaco. She actually drove eight
hours to adopt him because he was slated to be euthanized that day.
Anyway, if the client doesn't mind, Chaco stays in the massage room
rather than napping in M.'s car. I consider the privelege of petting
Chaco while waiting for M. to get started part of the therapy =)

I've mentioned before the dog at the pet shop who stands up on his hind
feet, leans his forepaws on the counter and grins at me, as if to say,
'what can I do for you?'

We *need* pictures of this guy!
