Dot's song
Dot has squeaky "Eeek" and a breathy "Eck" sounds that she uses when
speaking with me, but I've noticed lately that she has a very respectable megaphone meow that she only uses when I'm out of sight. I went over today as she was meowing in the hallway, and I finally saw what she was seranading - a little bug. She sat daintily and sang at the little bug, her nose just inches away. When she saw me, she wound around me, so I picked her up. She licked my fingers enthusiastically. When I put her down and walked away, she went back to the hallway and continued singing to her bug. |

Licky does that! He'll sit next a wall that has something crawling on it, and just *stare*, or swivel his head all around to follow a moth flying by - all the while yowling at the top of his lungs. From another room, it sounds like he's having a dire emergency. I used to race into the room to see what he might be dying of, but I don't fall for it any more. I wonder what the vibrations of a cat meowing loudly from 3 inches away feels like to a bug? Do they "hear" it? -- Joyce Mother teach me to walk again Milk and honey, so intoxicating -- Sarah McLaughlin |
