Default Tucker is recuperating

A quick update.

The little guy went in to see the vet this morning and I was really dreading
her telling me that he may not be eating enough and I was happily surprised
that not only had Tucker not lost but he had gained a few ounces. Yay!
I've been giving him various meds around the clock and he is either sleeping
in the cat condo, or getting meds, or having me try to coax him into eating
(and he has decided that being hand fed is really the cat's meow.)

We got a 2nd opinion from the lab and it pretty much sounded like what the
first lab report said. However, my vet also talked to a specialist and she
had seen cats with these types of symptoms before and the prognosis was not
great; my vet thinks we may have caught this early; however, I'm just trying
to take things one day at a time and see what happens. The long and short of
it is that there is no definitive answer so far. There are still some tests
out there being done regarding staining to look for particular bacteria.
I'm just trying to go by his behavior and it does seem like his gaining
weight is a positive. He actually PURRED in the doctor's office - so
amazing. (He might have been trying to pull out all the stops to make sure
I didn't leave him there again ;o)

Anyway, thanks for keeping him in your thoughts and purrayers; he's supposed
to go back on Sunday to get his stitches out if things go well.

I love my little Tuckeroni,
Christine

That is *wonderful* news, Christine. BTW, how old is Tucker now?

That's really good news -- still frightening since you don't have a
definitive answer, but positive news since Tucker seems to be holding his
weight. Let us know what the other tests show. We all know what it's like
to worry about one of our greatly loved furbabies.

Purrs are on the way for Tucker to make a complete recovery.

I'm so glad he seems to be feeling better, and is eating. Purrs for you
to find out what's wrong and how to treat it continuing.
