I voted I am just waiting for this day to be done.
Either Hell, Heaven or Both begins at the end of the vote

I'd like it to be over too. It's horribly boring for Brits (and for other
Europeans probably)

I'm surprised there has been so little of it here - this is like a peaceful
haven compared to most other newsgroups! Congratulations, everyone, for
showing such restraint!

Hugs,

Seattle is the birthplace of Starbucks, but we voted by absentee ballot.

I voted Thursday, here in California. Permanent absentee status is very
convenient. I "bellied up to the Barr".

I'll be glad when this day is over too......dreading the outcome.

I don't have to dread it. I know it's going to be bad, because all the
likely choices are just different kinds of badness.

Speaking for this USA'ian... It is horribly boring for us too.

I sat with my mother-in-law, we went over the ballot/amendment items
and what they meant. She seems to think she's too stupid to read them
at the polling site (she isn't but I digress). She then went and
voted. I voted by mail in ballot (standing is an issue) two weeks
ago.

It's all about slinging mud, and who slings it better anymore.

That's not California, Jo, it's federal law that you cannot offer
anything of value to vote or not vote. It was a law designed to protect
us from vote-jiggering.

Of course, one might argue that (whatever its price) a Starbucks coffee
is of dubious value! ;-)

Deborah
voted last week (we loves our vote-by-mail, we does)

Amen to that! (I just wish there were some way of so-informing all the
last minute political telemarketers!)

So much for my thinking that maybe, just maybe apathy might be on it's way
out. I had high hopes for the election and, since so many voted had hoped
the American people were finally going to take an interest in our country.
To each their own and am not trying to ruffle feathers, just sorry I must
have been in a daze.

I would say they HAD, most emphatically! (Which planet are YOU living
on?) The results have certainly renewed my faith in the intelligence of
the American voter! The response from the rest of the world is
encouraging, too - maybe America will again achieve the respect GWB did
so much to destroy.

As I said, the voters kicked a field goal, 4th quarter, 4th down,
minutes left to play.....from downfield 80 yards. Is there such a
thing as a "Hail Mary" field goat? Apathy put them downfield 80 yards.
The Broncos could presently use such get-go.

Hopitus, you definitely follow a Surrealist style of writing. I don't have
a *clue* what you're saying here!

What do you mean? People voted in record numbers this time. I would hardly
call that apathy. I've been a voter since 1972 and I have never seen so
much passion over an election. Could you say what you mean by "taking an
interest in the country"? My impression is that millions of people who
have never taken any interest in participating in the political process
got themselves involved in it this year. I found that pretty inspiring.
