Default Barney Ferret...

Barney Ferret will probably be making his way to Rainbow Bridge
tomorrow morning. He's been ill for a while with an abdominal mass
that has been getting bigger and he has been going steadily downhill,
so I've made the decision to send him to the bridge if that is what
the vet recommends. I've made the decision not to undertake any heroic
measures as I don't feel it will improve his quality of life
significantly, so it's likely that he'll be making his final journey.

Please could he have some purrs and good thoughts for an outcome that
is best for him?

Thanks
Helen M

I am very sorry to hear this about Barney. Good thoughts for the ferret boy.
How old can a ferret be if it does not get ill.
Hugs, Elisabet

He has all of that from me and will have purrs from our cats and a
friendly wag from Bear the d*g when I tell them all. May he leap about
and play at the Bridge, free of illness, free of fear and full of
ferrett vim and vigor.

I didn't get the original post, so I'm tagging on to this one.
Poor Barney. I think you're right in not taking those heroic measures, you'd
probably ruin what's left of his life.
Please watch his little friend closely after his death, some ferrets can
become very depressed and are best off with a new friend.
Wishing you strength on your decision.

Thank you. when he was first diagnosed in Novemebr last year, I made
the decision to get another ferret to keep Gertie company for when
Barney went to RB. Fungus arrived in January and the 3 of them have
been happily co-existing. Hopefully Fungus and Gertie will be OK with
just each other as company. (

I am so sorry to hear that Barney isn't doing well. Purrs and
positive thoughts for Barney. For healing if that will help or for
an easy RB crossing if that is what is necessary. Purrs also
for you and Gertie and Fungus. I know you'll all miss him if it is
his time to go.
