Default snail bait danger

The snail bait I just bought lists a warning not to use when pets are around
as they may eat it. Will cats eat this? If so, is it dangerous to them?

thx

I sure as heck wouldn't use something around pets with a warning like that.
.. I did a yahoo search on "snail bait"+toxic+pets and it appears that there
are non-toxic snail baits around and that ones containing metaldehyde are
the most toxic.

You may endanger others pets by putting it out if not your own.

Do you think its very lethal or would just make them sick for a while but
recoverable?

You could put the bait in a place where the snails can get at it and the
pets not. Maybe a
cage sitting on the ground?

I've used snail bait, and I wouldn't let my pets out for a couple of weeks.
Why chance it if the label says toxic to animals. Becoming sick or evening
death is enough to use this product with caution.
